FROM sIS. TALICIA...
Thank you for volunteering your time and effort to make the Media Missions department a success! Below, you will find information about the department and our guidelines.
Please take some time to read through this information with an open mind and a prayerful heart! As a Media Missions team member, I want to make sure you know that I value, respect, and hear you, so there is also a place where you can submit your comments, ideas, suggestions, and complaints. Anything you submit will only be seen by me, unless you choose for it to be seen by others also.

We know that media has become the "face and voice" of an organization. FPC previously had so many media outlets doing their own thing that it was causing confusion. So, in 2019, Bishop and I began discussing the creation of an actual media department. We put everything on hold in 2020 because of COVID, so in 2021 we fast-tracked a lot of things. It was chaotic at best, but we were able to finalize the leadership structure, organization, and goals of the new department, Media Missions (MM). The chosen leadership team was Ryan Schremmer, Jess Dow, Danielle McVey, Chayna Hardyway, and me. All the scattered media teams were organized into the following 6 groups:
- Audio/Visual IT
- Churchview
- Duplications
- Photography
- Production (Studios and Graphic Design)
- Social Media
After Bishop approved the leadership and organization, the department was finally in a position to start accomplishing some goals. The goals were simple, but not easy. Every team needed guidance, structure, and personnel. We spent 2022 and 2023 getting those goals accomplished. During that time, each team started to gain stability and cohesiveness to the point where they could run smoothly under their respective team leads.
The stability we were able to achieve over the past two years finally put Media Missions in a position to start growing. We are now able to start reconstructing our "face and voice" to be consistent with the mission and vision of FPC leadership. That is where we are now. We are going through branding changes so we can all have the same face and speak with one voice. This is a church-wide project, but the Media department is the most visible and has the most public-facing changes. We will be making changes, updates, and adding personnel until we reach that goal, moving as one in the same direction. As the director, my job is to guide and steer the group towards our end goals. Sometimes, I'm given directives that require fast and furious course corrections; so, things we did today, may not be things we do tomorrow.

Now that we are moving in a specific direction, we are focused on branding, therefore, we will implement strategic, department-wide changes. Social media will be the front-runner, which means changing what we post, how we post, when we post, and what our posts look like. The social media and photography teams will be working hand-in-hand to make this happen; all the other areas will follow closely after. We'll make adjustments as necessary, so things will feel a little wonky until we land on solid footing. The changes should be completed by the end of 2024.
As Media Missions continues to grow, personnel will be added and responsibilities will be distributed across the department to accomplish our overall goals. I am encouraging everyone to turn to each other for help, ideas, information, innovations, etc. If someone on the team has an idea that makes us better, I want them to feel the freedom to express it. I don't want anyone to feel unappreciated if their idea doesn't get used or if their idea is replaced with a new one. Not one of us has all the knowledge or wisdom we need to make this successful, but all of us together can do it. I want every person in Media Missions to feel empowered by me and by their peers. Success is very much a team effort!
In order for MM to continue moving forward, it's imperative that we talk and listen with a constructive attitude. I will communicate openly, honestly, and prayerfully with anyone and treat them with respect. We are all adults, so I expect the same from everyone else. We all must guard against intentionally offending and being offended. We must also be ready and willing to forgive human failings. In the end, we are brothers and sisters in the Lord! Also, if you see a problem, bring it up with your team leader and be prepared to help find a solution. That's how the team gets better!!
Our leadership team acts under my direction. If you're given directions or a decision is made that you don't agree with and it's bothering you, PLEASE say something to them or me; do not sit on confusion or bad feelings! I don't want a root of bitterness to spring up in anyone, but an offense can't be addressed if no one knows it exists. You can expect to receive open communication and an honest explanation. However, there will be times when we can't discuss details without breaking someone's confidence. In those cases, we need you to just trust us and follow our instructions without immediate (or even any) explanation. Ultimately, the buck stops with me. I'm held accountable for what we produce, so I'll do whatever I can to make our teams successful!
